Discipline and Complaints
Within the LFB, the LFB rules and regulations are implemented to ensure the successful continuation of the faction and ensure the high standards of the London Fire Brigade are maintained at all times. As a result of this, command members will need to issue disciplinaries based on rule breaks.
Types of Disciplinaries
There are five types of disciplinaries issued by the London Fire Brigade depending on the severity of your actions:
Warning
A warning is issued as a first step to ensure that an LFB member is aware of their actions and to ensure that they do not repeat them. These may be verbal or written.
It expires after 30 days with no further disciplinary action, and can be issued by a member of the Sector Command team providing they supply a video clip of the incident, and can be issued without a clip by any more senior member of the command team.
Strike
A strike is issued as a second step to ensure that an LFB member is aware of their actions and to ensure that they do not repeat them. These may be verbal or written.
It expires after 60 days with no further disciplinary action, and can be issued by a member of the Sector Command or Divisional Command team providing they supply a video clip of the incident, and can be issued without a clip by any more senior member of the command team.
Suspension
A suspension is a temporary removal from LFB. This is only issued when an LFB member has broken a rule which is deemed to be serious enough to warrant a temporary removal from the faction. This may be issued by a member of the Divisional Command team or higher, and will be issued with a video clip if instigated by a member of the Divisional Command team.
A suspension will be removed after 90 days with no further disciplinary action.
Removals
A removal is a permanent removal from LFB. This is only issued when an LFB member has broken a rule which is deemed to be serious enough to warrant a permanent removal from the faction. This may be issued only by the Chief Fire Command. A removal will permanently remain on your record, however, does not prohibit you from re-joining the London Fire Brigade at a later date.
Evidence is always required for a removal.
Blacklists
A blacklist is a permanent removal from LFB. This is only issued when an LFB member has broken a rule which is deemed to be serious enough to warrant a permanent removal from the faction.
A blacklist will permanently remain on your record, and prohibits you from re-joining the London Fire Brigade at a later date.
Evidence is always required for a blacklist.
Activity
Within the London Fire Brigade, we have an automated bot which will highlight members who have an activity warning. You can receive two activity warnings and when you receive a third, you will be removed from the London Fire Brigade and have to reapply. These cannot be appealed as we have an LOA process in place for you to take legitimate time away from the London Fire Brigade.
Complaints regarding LFB Members
If you believe an LFB Member has acted in a manner that is not in line with the LFB Rules and Regulations, you can report them via the LFB Complaints channel within the LFB Discord.
You will need to provide evidence of the incident and a member of the LFB Command Team will review the incident and take appropriate action.
We take such reports very seriously, and will investigate your allegation proportionately and without bias. When you open a complaint, a member of the LFB Command Team will inform you of what happens next, and what actions we have or will take.
The same process is followed for internal complaints. If you have an internal complaint about a member of the command team, you can report this to any member of the LFB Command Team and they will take appropriate action.
Appeals
Any disciplinary action taken can be appealed. This is done by opening an internal complaint (see above) and formally outlining why you believe a disciplinary action should be removed.
You should include in your appeal:
The initial circumstances which prompted a disciplinary action to be taken
Why you believe the disciplinary action should be removed
If you believe the disciplinary action is valid, what you will do to ensure it does not happen again; or
If you believe the disciplinary action is invalid, why you believe this is the case -- supporting this with any evidence you may have.
All of the above are appealable via opening a complaints ticket and writing a formal letters as to why they should be removed. These should outline why you received the disciplinary, outline what has changed or why you think it is invalid and what you will aim to do better in future.
