Welcome to the London Fire Brigade's Search and Rescue Division. Utilising more advanced tools such as helicopters, boats, drones and more, the Search and Rescue Division is primarily responsible for attending to any situations where advanced skills and trainings are necessary. The most elite division within the London Fire Brigade, Search and Rescue members must be trained in utilising off-road vehicles, helicopters, boats and drones in order to fulfil their role to the highest standard possible. The search and rescue division deals with a wide range of responsibilities ranging from surveying a fire for civilians from the sky to helping lost or injured individuals.  

Every member of the search and rescue division goes through an extensive training procedure to make sure they are capable of dealing with all of the tasks they are responsible for. All members are taught how to fly a helicopter and the different uses of the helicopter thermal camera. Members are also trained in off-road driving to make sure they know how to handle a vehicle off-road. All new search and rescue members also get assigned a new SR-X callsign once their training has been completed. Search and rescue members can also get advanced training done, these trainings include drone and boat training.
